Based in the Snowdonia National Park, we know a thing or two about our environment; we have a great one around us every day. It is a fantastic place to rest work and play and a key attraction to the area for people from further afield. The Snowdonia National Park needs to be looked after, we spend a great deal of time managing and minimising our impact and have a continually evolving environmental policy.

Localy

Our immediate impact is controlled through carefully selected areas. Snowdonia Navigation recognise a need for the increased use of environmental education and awarness within the structure of outdoor activities in Snowdonia which helps us all to understand how our national park lives and works.

Snowdonia is a five star county with top quality countryside and coast that provides fabulous wildlife experiences as well as unforgettable outdoor activities. It is Snowdonia Actives members responsibility to help people develop a:

greater understanding of the wildlife and countryside of Snowdonia

caring and responsible attitude for each of the activity sites that are regularly used

sustainable use of the Snowdonia countryside

Nationaly

Looking beyond Snowdonia our efforts to minimise environmental damage include buying local produce to reduce road and air miles, a comprehensive recycling policy and where possible influencing other organisations to audit their own practices.

International

At one level recycling is a good thing, but it comes at an expense of energy, time and money. Beyond recycling, deep environmental care will increase through seeking and using alternatives that are initially less damaging and secondly that are smarter to re-use or recycle. Environmental care at an international level has a long term view. The damage done over 200 years may take1000s to reverse. Our work with international organisation such as Future Forests® promotes new ideas and strategies for a cleaner world. Future Forests calculates CO2 emissions for individuals, businesses and communities and helps them offset the use of carbon based energy.

Give some money, offset your own carbon emissions, plant trees or donate money to an energy saving project
